Every district is being asked to contribute an article, unit, etc. by the end of JUNE.
You do not have to write this, but you do need to find someone (or more than one person) who will.

• The Bookmark is the professional journal of the British Columbia Teacher-Librarians' Association. 

  As such, it:

  • Acts as a communication vehicle for ideas, trends and new developments in the field;
  • Supports a professional network of teacher-librarians who are committed to resource-based learning and cooperative planning and teaching;
  • Disseminates information on British Columbia learning resources; and
  • Promotes reading and the development of literature appreciation.

    The BCTLA hereby grants copyright permission to individual members of the BCTLA who wish to make a single copy of an entire article, unit or bibliography for their own use.  Permission to make multiple copies must be obtained from the BCTLA’s Publications Coordinator or from the Senior Editor of The Bookmark.  Written requests should include pertinent information such as intended use, number of copies, pages required, and audience.

    To support the advocacy work of the BCTLA and ensure the continuation of The Bookmark, please join our PSA.

  • Publishing Information :

    BCTLA reviews appear in The Bookmark, published in September, December and April by BC Teacher-Librarians' Association. Each BCTLA review title is listed in an annual index published in September. The Canadian Education Index also regularly scans and indexes the BCTLA reviews.  BCTLA reviews include print and non-print materials. To be considered for inclusion, items should have a significant association through British Columbia through author, performer, producer, publisher, or subject matter, and should have been published in the last three years.

  • Advertising: promote your business or agency within our journal. Included withthe publication is also the corresponding blog readership. Your ad in The Bookmark will reach over 400 teacher-librarians, teachers, and members of college and university faculties in BC -- as well as in other parts of Canada and the world. Unlike other magazines, which are read and then discarded, issues of The Bookmark are kept for years because they are curriculum theme related. Back issues are treasured by teacher-librarians, stored carefully and referred to frequently.  A full page ad is 6.5 inches wide by 9 inches long. A half page ad may be 3 inches wide by 9 inches long or 6.5 inches wide by 4.5 inches long. Inserts are 8.5 inches by 11 inches maximum size (printed on one or both sides). All advertisements must be submitted electronically.  For deadlines, submissions and other information, contact:
